On the morning of April 23, the 633rd session of the "Hong" Academic Lecture Series was successfully held in Classroom B171 of the North Campus of the South Campus. The event was hosted by the Graduate School and the Graduate Student Affairs Office, organized by the School of Architecture, and co-organized by the University Graduate Student Science and Technology Association. Professor Xu Jiansheng from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology delivered a report titled "Regional Creative Practice Based on Cultural Drive and Technological Integration." The lecture was chaired by Professor Liu Qibo from the School of Architecture, with 100 faculty members and students from related colleges in attendance.

Professor Xu Jiansheng Delivers the Report
The report primarily focused on three aspects: the essential qualities of professional architects, the internal driving forces of industry development, and the pathways for innovative inheritance.

First, Professor Xu Jiansheng systematically elaborated on the mission of architects in the new era, emphasizing that professional architects must develop a composite knowledge system integrating philosophy, history, and technology. They must fulfill dual roles as "space creators" and "team managers," requiring not only meticulous project management but also a consciousness of cultural inheritance to preserve the spirit of cities. Subsequently, drawing on his own architectural practices, Professor Xu emphasized that tradition should not be seen as a constraint but as the foundation for innovation. He advocated using cultural inheritance as a bridge to promote the wisdom of construction.

In response to technological advancements, Professor Xu proposed a "culture-green integration" goal, integrating digital and intelligent technologies to enhance the expression of architectural culture. Finally, he suggested that future architects should take the lead in tackling technological challenges, deeply exploring cultural genes while seeking ways to merge green technologies with traditional construction wisdom. By preserving regional characteristics and embracing the spirit of the times, they can build an innovative system for the industry.
