Lecture:Professor Lu Li from National University of Singapore Delivers Report

Time:September 20, 2025

On the morning of September 12, the 650th session of the "Hong" Academic Lecture Series was held at WH1101 on the North Campus. The event was hosted by the Graduate School and the Graduate Student Affairs Office, organized by the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and co-organized by the University Graduate Student Science and Technology Association. Professor Lu Li from the National University of Singapore delivered a report titled "Towards Solid-State Electrochemical Energy Storage Devices." The lecture was chaired by Professor Guo Yajie from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, with over 150 faculty members and students from related colleges in attendance.

Professor Lu Li Delivers the Report

The report primarily focused on four aspects: the core challenges of solid-state batteries, interface optimization strategies, composite electrolyte design, and future development directions. Professor Lu Li explained that the core bottleneck of solid-state batteries lies in the electrode-electrolyte interface issues, including poor contact, chemical instability, and dendrite growth, which severely limit battery performance. He proposed a ferroelectric modification interface engineering strategy, introducing a "ferroelectric oxide-polymer" composite layer to suppress space charge layers and stabilize the SEI film, significantly enhancing the battery's cycling stability and anti-aging capabilities.

Additionally, he emphasized the "rigid-flexible integration" design of organic/inorganic composite electrolytes, which synergistically improves ionic conductivity, mechanical strength, and interface compatibility. Professor Lu Li pointed out that future efforts should focus on multiple dimensions, including mechanistic research, material performance, structural design, and cost control, to advance the industrialization of solid-state batteries and provide solutions for high-safety, high-energy-density energy storage devices.
