Faculty and Students from Bridge Engineering Department Participate in the 2025 International Conference on Structural Resilience and Sustainability

Time:September 20, 2025

From March 21 to 24, 2025, the 2025 International Conference on Structural Resilience and Sustainability (ICSRS-2025) was held at Wuhan University of Technology. The conference, themed "Resilience and Sustainability of Engineering Structures," aimed to discuss strategies for enhancing the resilience and sustainable development of engineering structures in the face of climate change, natural disasters, and human-induced hazards. The event attracted over 100 experts and scholars from more than 10 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, and Singapore, who delivered 67 insightful academic presentations.

Professor Zhao Yu from the Highway College was invited to serve as a member of the conference's scientific committee. Additionally, Professor Zhou Yongjun, Associate Professor Jing Yuan, Dr. Chen Kefan, and graduate students Mu Fengrui and Wu Yuhang from the Bridge Engineering Department attended the conference as invited participants.

During the conference, Associate Professor Jing Yuan delivered a presentation titled "Damage Evaluation of PC Box Girder Bridge Subjected to Overheight Vehicle Impact." Her report provided a detailed analysis of the dynamic response and damage assessment methods for PC box girder bridges under overheight vehicle collisions, offering critical scientific insights for evaluating the safety performance of bridges in such scenarios and laying a theoretical foundation for impact-resistant design and safety assurance.

Graduate student Mu Fengrui presented his research on "Research on Cable Clamp Bolt Detection Technology of Suspension Bridges." He introduced an ultrasonic detection model that accounts for the non-uniform stress distribution in bolts, proposed correction factors and influencing factors for a two-stage pull-out theoretical model, and elaborated on the principles and applicability of the ultrasonic pull-out method using practical engineering cases. This study provides valuable theoretical support and technical references for the detection of cable clamp bolts in suspension bridges.

The conference served as a platform to showcase the research achievements of the college's faculty and students, enhancing the college's academic influence. It also fostered closer academic exchanges and collaborations with numerous domestic and international institutions, laying a solid foundation for future research and cooperation.
