To celebrate International Children's Day, enrich the cultural life of faculty and staff, enhance parent-child bonding, and stimulate children's interest in scientific exploration, the Highway College Labor Union meticulously organized a parent-child research activity at the Chang'an Cloud · Xi'an Science and Technology Museum on June 2. A total of 118 faculty members and their children participated in the event.
On the day of the activity, the group gathered at the Xi'an Science and Technology Museum. Guided by staff, the 118 participants, both adults and children, were divided into two teams and embarked on an orderly journey of scientific exploration. They visited six thematic exhibition halls, including "Science in Daily Life," "Life and Health," "Scientific Inquiry," "Core Technologies," "Aerospace Dreams," and "Innovation Workshop." The children were deeply captivated by the fascinating exhibits, enthusiastically engaging in interactive experiences, operating devices, observing scientific phenomena, and immersing themselves in the wonders of technology. Their exclamations of amazement and laughter filled the air. Parents also participated with great interest, learning and discussing alongside their children, creating a vibrant atmosphere of intellectual curiosity and warm parent-child interaction.
"The organization of this activity was exceptional!" remarked one participating faculty member. "With busy work schedules, it’s rare to have such an in-depth experience with cutting-edge technology alongside our children. The kids had a great time, asked countless questions, and even I learned a lot of new knowledge. It truly combined education with entertainment."
This parent-child research activity is a key initiative by the College Labor Union to support faculty and staff and care for the growth of the next generation. Choosing the science and technology museum as the venue aimed to allow children to engage closely with technological advancements and plant the seeds of science in their hearts. Simultaneously, it provided faculty families with a valuable opportunity for high-quality companionship and shared learning, effectively enhancing the college’s sense of cohesion and belonging.
The College Labor Union will continue to address the needs of faculty and staff by organizing more diverse and meaningful cultural, sports, and family activities, actively fostering a harmonious and motivated college culture.
