On June 20, 2025, the Road Alignment and Intelligent Engineering Department successfully organized a teaching research activity themed "Digital Transformation and Development" via an online platform. The event was chaired by Professor Zhang Chi, Head of the Department, with Professor Ma Feng, Vice Dean of the Highway College, invited to provide guidance.
At the beginning of the activity, Professor Zhang Chi emphasized the importance of grassroots teaching organization development and explained the background and theme of the seminar. He pointed out that, in line with the college’s enrollment conference spirit, both undergraduate and graduate education are facing significant opportunities and challenges in transformation. Based on teaching needs feedback from prior student forums, the meeting aimed to deeply explore pathways for educational reform in the digital era.
During the thematic report session, Professor Zhang Chi introduced the newly established curriculum system for the Mao Yisheng Class and shared the achievements in developing the digital textbook Road Survey and Design. He provided a comprehensive overview from perspectives such as the textbook’s compilation process, content structure, unique advantages, and application methods, offering valuable insights into the construction of digital teaching resources for attending faculty.
The discussion session was lively, with faculty members actively sharing their views. Professor Pan Binghong and Professor Yang Hongzhi, as main compilers of the textbook, engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues such as copyright protection, student user experience, and content update mechanisms for digital textbooks. Professors Peng Yuhua, Zhao Yifei, Chen Jianxin, Yuan Zhiying, Zhang Wenqing, and Jia Xingli fully acknowledged the textbook’s depth and advanced content while providing constructive suggestions on integrating the digital textbook with the Chang’an Academy teaching system. Young faculty members including Yan Jixing, Wang Xue, and Xin Tian expressed their respect for the editorial team and initiated insightful discussions on integrating digital textbooks with AI technology, consolidating MOOC resources, and promoting widespread application.
In his concluding remarks, Vice Dean Ma Feng analyzed industry development trends and the college’s enrollment situation, emphasizing that digital and intelligent transformation is currently a top priority. He highly praised the achievements of the Department in digital textbook development and expressed gratitude for the active participation and valuable suggestions from the faculty. He also provided strategic guidance for future development directions.
Finally, Professor Zhang Chi summarized the event, noting that the teaching research activity was substantial and insightful, playing a significant role in advancing the digital transformation of the specialty and enhancing the quality of talent cultivation. The Department will continue to organize regular teaching seminars, pooling collective wisdom to promote high-quality development in teaching and research work.
